Help Lines and Resources

Dealing with issues of sexual orientation and gender identity can be very isolating. The need to discuss how you’re feeling, to ask questions, to receive support may be very great. But who to trust?

Our Help Lines are a safe place to get assistance. They are staffed by long-time PFLAG members, most of them parents or family members of LGBT persons. If you are a family member, be sure they have felt many of the same emotions you are going through and had many of the same questions. If you are an LGBT person, know that they have a lot of experience in listening to and supporting people just like you.

Your call will be completely confidential. If you wish, you can be anonymous. Supply as many or as few details as you like. Our trained help line volunteers will listen to whatever is on your mind. They will support you, encourage you, provide you with information and understanding. And they will never judge you.

If picking up the phone seems like too big a challenge, you can also get support by contacting us by e-mail. Messages are checked daily, and one of our Help line volunteers will contact you soon. You can also sign up to receive our newsletter by e-mail.
