PFLAG LA Presents First-Ever Parents of Pride Conference

POPCon, a virtual conference for parents and caregivers of LGBTQ+ people, debuts February 28

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 29, 2026) — PFLAG Los Angeles — the L.A. chapter of the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for and with LGBTQ+ people and those who love them — will host its first-ever Parents of Pride Conference (POPCon), a virtual, half-day conference designed to support parents, caregivers, and family members of LGBTQ+ children of all ages. The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. PT. The conference is free and open to parents and caregivers ages 18 and older nationwide.

“At a time when many families are navigating uncertainty, POPCon is about creating connection, sharing practical tools, and reminding parents and caregivers that they’re not alone,” said Farrah Dodes, President of PFLAG Los Angeles. “This conference creates a welcoming space for learning, affirmation, and community.”

POPCon brings together parents, advocates, and community leaders for a day of education, connection, and practical guidance grounded in PFLAG’s core pillars of education, support, and advocacy. The conference is designed as a flexible, drop-in experience, allowing attendees to join sessions live throughout the day.

The program will feature a keynote address, interactive workshops led by partner organizations, and a moderated parent panel focused on real-world experiences and strategies for supporting LGBTQ+ children of all ages. Confirmed workshop partners include Equality California and InterACT, with additional participants to be announced.

All sessions will be hosted via a single Zoom webinar to reduce barriers to participation and increase accessibility. Registration is required for both live attendance and on-demand access. Sessions will be available on-demand for a limited time following the event for those unable to attend live.
