PFLAG LA Launches Podcast Centering LGBTQ+ Families, Allies, and Community Voices
This preview from The PFLAG LA Podcast features coach and ally Orlando Bishop reflecting on a moment during college that challenged him to examine his words, assumptions, and responsibilities as a leader.
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 5, 2026) — PFLAG Los Angeles — the L.A. chapter of the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for and with LGBTQ+ people and those who love them — is launching a monthly podcast, The PFLAG LA Podcast, to inform, connect, and support LGBTQ+ people, their families, friends, and allies.
“This podcast is about connection, information, and community,” said Farrah Dodes (she, her), PFLAG Los Angeles President. “We want people to feel supported wherever they are — whether they’re LGBTQ+ themselves, a parent or family member, or an ally learning how to show up with care and confidence.”
The PFLAG LA Podcast will be released on the first Tuesday of every month beginning January 6, 2026. It is designed as an accessible, conversation-driven series that bridges LGBTQ+ communities with families and allies through education, shared experience, and practical resources.
Each episode follows a consistent format that includes:
A spotlight on an LGBTQ+ term from PFLAG’s National Glossary
A featured community awareness event or moment
An in-depth guest conversation
A response to a listener-submitted question
Listeners are encouraged to submit questions or topics for future episodes by emailing podcast@pflagla.org.
The PFLAG LA Podcast is hosted and moderated by actor, broadcaster, and artist Thomas Callahan (he/him), with Dodes and Corey Berry (he/him), Advocacy Co-Chair and DEI Officer for PFLAG Los Angeles, as co-hosts.
Episodes will be available on all major podcast platforms, with a full video version on the PFLAG LA YouTube channel at YouTube.com/@PFLAGLosAngeles. Supporting links and resources referenced in each episode will be published on the PFLAG Los Angeles website at pflagla.org/podcast and in the YouTube descriptions for each episode, allowing listeners to easily access additional information after listening.
The inaugural episode features life coach and creator of Align methodology Orlando Bishop (he/him), who reflects on his journey toward allyship, the importance of visible support, and the impact of showing up publicly for LGBTQ+ youth and families. Bishop’s conversation underscores a central theme of the podcast: No one should feel alone.
The February 4, 2026 episode will feature Nik Kacy (they, he), creator and executive producer of Equality Fashion Week, continuing the podcast’s focus on visibility, advocacy, and LGBTQ+ representation across culture and community leadership.
The podcast is an extension of PFLAG Los Angeles’ broader mission to support LGBTQ+ people and those who love them through education, advocacy, and community.
